An easy way of moving /home and other directories

I came across this piece of great info for moving /HOME and some other directories to another disk ( I had originally installed everything under /).

Although written for Gentoo it is still valid for SUSE

and I never realized what a gem of a delight the CFDISK program was -- it's certainly on my SUSE 10.0 RC1 system.

Hope you find this useful

Don't forget also that to make (format) a Reiserfs file system use as root program mkreiserfs.

This gave me a strange error the ist time so I formatted the partition with the standard mke2fs (ext2) file system -- DID NOT MOUNT and then ran mkreiserfs on the same partition --then it formatted fine.

Cheers

Hi kyle, please consider submitting HOWTO's to the LQ Tutorials site, or to the News/Articles/Editorials forum. Don't get me wrong, this is great info, but technically it isn't really a question, and this kind of info would actually be helpful to users of any distro, not just SuSE. Thanks -- J.W.
