I just installed Suse 10 64bit version on a AMD DualCore 3800+. And i am using Alias Maya 7(3d Software) on my system. I have the same scenes created with Maya, when i render on Windows, it renders in 1:05. With Linux, it renders in 1:15.
This can't be correct. Linux definetely need to render faster than windows...Any comments ? anyone had the same problem ? Should i install 32bit version of Suse or some other distro. ? or just use Windows ?
its just regular windows xp professional sp2...i used to run Maya with Linux 2 years ago, and it was faster then windows...But now, with my brand new machine and Suse64...Windows is faster by 10 secons..and 10 seconds is very big deal..
i dont' have a problem with speed of Suse. I've a problem with Suse can't use my cpu`s like windows do.
I wonder if the problem is because of Suse being 64 or doesnt have a good support for Dualcores...
