Ada gtk on OpenSuse 12.x

Hi friends,

has anyone any experience to share as far as Ada Gtk installation goes ? I know Adacore offers the package for download but before spending time installing it on my own I better ask here for any good or bad experience.

Thanks, Mario

Mario,

I have NOT installed it on OpenSuse, but I have installed it multiple times on RedHat. I have never had any trouble with the installation. Once you untar the file, you get another zipped file and a README. The documentation in the README is excellent, and I think you will find the installer (doinstall) pretty straight forward in itself.

hi netnix99 !

thanks for your message. I got it working without any trouble. Important to mention for all readers of this thread:

Watch the backticks ` when compiling with this command:

gnatmake hello_world `gtkada-config`

It did take me an hour or so to figure out that characters like ' or ´ won't do :-)

Another question to all people here:

What GTK function do I need in order to get the command line output displayed in a GTK box as it scrolls through ?
