acces denied error when opening dvd

Hello, recently it seems I can't access data thats on my dvd's when I try opening them in "my computer".

I can open these disks fine if I use file manager - super user mode, I can see the files no problem with root

Also i'm not sure if this has any bearing but under filesystem name udf appears for the dvd disks I put in.

Thanks in advance

Can you type:
$ id
(id looks like is in your path. it should work otherwise try:
$ /usr/bin/id

What is your login name in the computer ? How many drives you have ?

$ ls -l /dev/hdc

Put a DVD wait a few seconds and then type in a console:
$ dmesg
(and post the last few lines relavant to DVD)

If you have logged in a user XXX in F7 and logging in a user YYY in F8 (new session) the new user may not get access to DVD.

Hmm very weird,

everything seems ok now, I can open disks no problem. Maybe when I shut down and restarted my machine it fixed itself somehow. Oh well thanks for all your help!
