A lockscreen from the knosole

hey,

users can go to the suse menu and click lock screen...

my question is, is there a way to alias a terminal command that will execure the lock screen? I am often running konsole, and don't want to reach for the mouse. Is there any way I can make it so when I type "lockdown" that the system will lock it's self?

I believe the lock screen is done using an applet. Is there any way I can execute this applet manualy?

You probably have 'xlock' (pass-locking screensaver) which should be appropriate.
As usual, man xlock , for more info.

I'd like to see a good answer to your actual question. I agree xlock may do the job of preventing someone from walking up and doing something, but how do we actually force a lock session from the command line of a shell?
