9.2 package management
I'm new to package management and I've got a few things maybe someone could clarify for me!
First, what is RPM hell?
Second, should I install another package manager alongside of YAST, maybe apt-get, emerge, or yum? If so, what are some advanages and disadvantages of each?
And lastly, are there any non-SuSE YAST installation source repositories that I could add as an installation source within YAST? (I have all the packages on all 5 cd's installed so another library of software to point YAST at would be nice...)
Thank you in advance.
I don't think using another package manager alongside does do you any good. Except if you use the apt-version that uses rpms instead of debs.
There is a list of Yast-Sources in the sticky Yast-Update-Sources.
