3D acceleration in SuSE 10.1

Hi,

Okay, I have a copy of SuSE 10.1 running with an S3 ProSavage DDR card installed. I can't for the life of me seem to get direct rendering enabled correctly.

I've read through other threads regarding this and installed the Savage drivers recommended, but on rebooting all I got was a completely black screen and had to boot into failsafe to change it back.

I'm not even sure how things stand at the moment - ie as to whether my kernel has DRI enabled, as I don't know how to check!

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon.

Here's the output of lsmod, if that helps.

Having had a quick look on google it does not look like there is a 3d driver for your on-board graphics. If this is the case you can either leave as it is or disable the onboard graphics and get a buy a stand-alone graphic card.
