3 sata drives?

Ok i am new to linux, so please explain to me like I am 10. I have 3 hard drives sata1, sata2, and sata3, I simply want to set suse up to run with duel boot. I have windows xp on sata 1, data on sata 2, and sata 3 is empty so i was hoping to use suse here. My problem is i am a little confused on setting up the partions from the install prompt. The only way i can install is using boot installation and I have drives and there is /dev/sda5,/dev/sda6,dev/sdc2/dev/sdc5,dev/sdc6,dev/sdc7. Which i have no idea what these drives are and why its set up that way, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It looks like the blank drive may be the second sata disk and not the third. If you press [CTRL][ALT][F2] I think that will give you a psuedo shell, where you can run "fdisk -l" to make sure. This program will display the partitions on the drives. If sdb is listed but no sdb# then use the sdb disk.

/dev/sda is the first drive. /dev/sda1 is the first partition on the first disk. /dev/sdc is the third disk. I'm not sure why there isn't a /dev/sdc1. One other thing. If disk can have only 4 primary partitions. If you have an extended partition, it will probably be the forth. The first partition inside the extended partition will be called sda5 or sdb5 or sdc5, etc.
