3 quick newb laptop questions

I have suse 9.2 dual booting with win xp pro on a dell 600m.

I have 3 problems.

1. Suseplugger sees my wifi card, a dell trumobile 1400 dual wlan card.
But, when I try to configure in yast it only sees my gig nic.
I am very new to setting up wireless cards.
How do I get the wlan card to work?

2. I did Yast online update.
How do I install a new program?
Say I wanted fluxbox.
What is the cleanest way to get and install?

3. How do I switch between different wm's?
In Slack I just do xwmconfig and it lets me choose the one I want.
*think thats the right command....in slack its been a while.
What is the config file in SUSe to boot to command line.
I don't want to boot to KDE.
I missed it in the install.

So far SUSE is great on my Dell 600m. I just would like to get the above taken care of.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Blair

1. Sorry, nothing to say about wifi.

2. The easiest way: YaST -> Software -> Install and Remove Software -> Filter:'Search'
If the software you are looking for is not present, you may need to add more installation sources (see: sticky thread about YaST update sources). If you still do not find what you are looking for, try http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/home.html or compile from source.

3. On your login window you should have the choice to pick a windowmanager (if it is installed).

On YAST install remove software I have not been able to find anything....I will do as you said.....

I boot right to KDE.
I can logout and swith...(I guess)
But, I would rather boot to command line. Do what I want and then boot to gui if I need it.

Thanks,
Blair

Change the default runlevel to 3:

/etc/inittab:
Code:
# The default runlevel is defined here
id:5:initdefault:
to
Code:
# The default runlevel is defined here
id:3:initdefault:
The windowmanager can be started with 'startx' from command-line
