xorg not starting! help!

hi
i just updated my xorg to a new version from the opensuse build service, the repo was labeled xorg 7.3. after i restarted, beryl complained about not having the composite extention, and would quit. i reverted all my X packages back to the 7.2 branch i was using, and now x wont even try to load.

in Xorg.0.log, it says
(EE) AIGLX error: dlsym for __driCreateNewScreen_20050727 failed (usr/lib64/dri/fglrx_dri.so: undefined symbol: __driCreateNewScreen_20050727)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

i wasnt using AIGLX, and i dont know where it got that idea...

i cant even boot SaX2, because it is missing some .so, and gdm says it cant find "libXrandr.so.2"

argh omg HELP please! i have no idea how to fix this.
p.s. i use smart pkg manager

i have no log files, because neither X nor gdm gets far enough into boot to start logging

For one thing, it looks like you are missing an X11 package.
Code:
rpm -qf /usr/lib/libXrandr.so.2
xorg-x11-libs-32bit-7.2-21
Do you have an ATI video card? I think the first driver an ATI driver.

helpful link?

Looks like this guy had similar problems.

Doesn't mention how he reverted to 7.2, however.

# rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libXrandr.so.2
xorg-x11-libs-7.2-97.2

is this ok? it looks like it isnt being found...(by gdm of Xorg)
and safe mode wont even work for suse, so im not sure how to force a mass downgrade

edit: i have fglrx, and tried recompiling for a new kernel, but that didnt work
