Xgl and displaymanager

I just got 10.1 installed and I'm following the instructions from SUSE's website to get xgl working. It says to change a line in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager from:

DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER="Xorg" to:

DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER="xgl"

The problem is I don't have this line to change. The closest thing I have is this:

DISPLAYMANAGER_STARTS_XSERVER="yes" There's no reference to Xorg.

There's also a reference to this line that I don't have either:

DISPLAYMANAGER_XGL_OPTS="-accel glxbuffer -accel xv:fbo"

Anyone got this set up yet and working correctly?

EDIT

Nevermind. I looked again and found everything. Got it working now.

Just to get this off the '0 Reply threads' listing ... since you appeared to have resolved the issue.

It would have been interesting to know exactly what video card you are/were using, and whether you are using kde or gnome.

Are you guys using an Nvidia with the 3D driver. When I installed it in 10.1 GM my system got screwed bad. It all worked well using an identical procedure with 10.0 and 10.1 RC3. I used tiny-nvidia-installer that's included in the distro and loads the latest correct driver from Nvidia.

I'm using KDE and I have a GeForce 6600 card with the latest nvidia drivers. I followed the instructions from the link on opensuse's website to the novell instructions on how to get xgl working. It's not for the uninitiated.

So far I've found 10.1 to be a little bit buggy. Kaffeine in particular is buggy since I installed the latest version from packman. I've seen some strange behavior/error messages while playing around. I'm waiting for the mirrors to include 10.1 files before I make the switch from 10 to 10.1. Right now, 10.1 is on a separate partition. Xgl is pretty fancy, though, if you have the hardware to run it. Along with the nvidia graphics card I have 1 gig of ram and an Athlon 64 3200+ and SATA.

ok after some investing i got it to work. I notice when you move the cube around there is a novell logo on the top in white. Also on the bottom of the cube is just plain white. Is there a way to change this? if so how? thank you for your time on this matter. I must say when i finally got it to work i was very impressed.
