Windows running under linux - Works Great!

I currently have Suse 10.1 installed on an AMD 3500+ machine with 2 gig of memory. I installed the now free VMware server and am running Windows 2000 with sound, DVD, USB (still need to play with this though), and all the multimedia capabilities working. It works very well. You wouldn't know you are running Windows on a virtual machine. I also have two copies of Windows 2003 Server installed and run them simultaneously for some classes I am taking. I would encourage anybody wanting to run virutal machines to try downloading VMware's server. It is free and easy to install.

Go to www.vmware.com and click on the 'products/free products' link.

If anybody needs help setting up a virtual machine or installing the server, just place a post here.

Regards,

Randy.

Since you offered - how do I set up Samba so the guest XP can see my /home partition, in some of the doc's there's note that VMware sets this up automatically but not apparently under a 64bit host.

As to your usb problems have you seen this entry in the Suse Support Databas as to how to get VMware to see usb devices?
