Want to resize main and swap partitions

Suse 9.1
I want to increase my swap partition. In order to do so, I need to resize my main OS partition, because, between the two, the entire hd is completely partitioned.

Went to the partitioner, got, "dont f+++ with a mounted partition unless you know what you're doing", and figured I'd ask here before I screwed something up. What's the safe way to do this?

Always unmount the partition you want to resize! I think it doesn't work on a mounted partition anyway. The best way to do the resize is to boot from a LiveCD with the appropriate tools (reiserfs_resize, cfdisk), e.g. KNOPPIX.

Resizing operations are always dangerous! Backup your data before!
