Vsftpd Entering passive mode

Hi,
I have vsftpd set up. When I connect from a client I get this message
"229 Entering Extended Passive Mode (|||17899|)"
"200 EPRT command successful. Consider using EPSV.
"421 Service not available, remote server timed out. Connection closed"
Any help will be appreciated.

Eighter start vsftpd in standalone-mode or (and) check your (x)inetd configuration for ftpd if it is run from (x)inetd.
