I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with 512Mb Ram, and 80Gb primary hard drive, running Suse 10.0. I can see the 200Gb hard drive, I can even access the files, to play them (by the way this drive is used to store my music files). But I can't as a user, although I can as root, save files to the drive. Plus I can't access the primary drive shares, from windows, I get a message that says words to the effect of, I don't have the rights to do this.

Anybody any thoughts on where I'm going wrong? I have samba running and have shared folders on both the primary and secondary drives.

#chown user:user name dir.

User is your username name dir or drive...
(chown=change owner)
You have to do this in a terminal as root..
