Hello. I have a usb mp3 player that was working fine a week ago. When I plugged it in kde and suse would both give popups asking me if I wanted to open a new window for the device.
I don't see these popups anymore. The device is still detected, I can tell if I go look in "USB Devices" under system ->Monitor in the menu.
Maybe I turned off the service that controls these popups I don't know but I don't know how to fix this, i've looked for an hour and can't find it. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows how to fix this.
I just noticed that it's not only my usb device, i tried putting in a dvd and it no longer mounts. WHen I click on the dvd icon in my computer it gives the error only root can mount the dvd. I logged into root and the dvd drives work there, if I click on the icon directly, it still does not auto popup anymore.
The usb device does not work in root so I don't know if the problem is related
well I got my dvd drives working again by editing the fstab entries, but my usb device is still not mounting. anyone got any theories? here is my fstab file.
