Upgrading from suse 9.3 to 10 online

Is it possible to upgrade to suse 10 online, without downloading the entire DVD? Can I do this with YOU? How? What's the server?

If all you want is to upgrade, would the OpenSuSE CD images (see here) be sufficient for you? That'd be a lot less downloading.

They even have an Internet load process that, apparently, needs only a single CD. (Note: I've never tried that so I can't attest to how how it works.) Personally, I'd be concerned about the amount of time needed to complete an upgrade over the Internet and, call me paranoid, what state my system would be in if there was an interruption.

Yes, you can, although I'd recommend a clean installation (wipe out the previous version first).

For the online update/installation, you need to download the boot.iso from the next opensuse mirror (~60MB), burn this to CD and boot. In the following menu, you can adjust the installation source to the same mirror and run either an update or fresh install.

See here for details and a list of mirrors:

BTW: You can't do it with YOU!
