Troubles installing mp3 codecs for other players

First off, im running opensuse 10.0, and Ive heard that this distro has had varios dependencies/programs, and I realize that theres a simple way of installing them. Ive searched the fourms, and I came across "hacking OpenSUSE.

http://www.desktoplinux.com/articles/AT2703022234.html

I gave this a shot, but ultimately, this gave support for Kaffine, and realplayer.

I would like to have support for the bmp, xmms, or any other program that could use it.

I have searched for this, but seeing as how im obviously horrible at searching, am currently stumped on what to do. Also, I made shure I had all the files in the article.

Any help is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

use yast and install xmms and the plugins. You don't need any other players

If you want to use the other players, setup the Packman Repository, and install the lib-xine1 (just search for xine).

That will take out the crippling xine package and install the support you want, you can also install the w32codecs for w32 bit files.
