Hi everyone:
i have just installed suse10.1, the installation is smooth, but on the Grub screen(maybe it is called something lese in SUSE), I see 4 entries:
SUSE10.1, SUSE10.1 fail safe, Windows 1, Windows 2.
I tried these options, and found out that Windows 2 is invalid entry, it lead to system hanging with error msg:
"INVALID boot.ini file
booting from C:\windows\
I/O error accessing boot sector file
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\BOOTSECTOR.DOS
"
while Windows 1 is the entry for my WinXP.
Not sure how this happens. One reason i can think of is that I deleted Federa core 5 before installing SUSE.
Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Just edit /boot/grub/menu.lst and put a "#" in each line front of the Windows 2 choice to disable it.

Linux installer includes every partition for booting if it finds a boot loader inside the boot sector of that partition. It looks like a MS boot loader has been left in the partition 3. Linux installer cannot tell so it is still working. It is its duty to include it as a matter of routine. If you have used that partition in the past for Dos or Windows then that would explain it.
