I installed Suse 9.2 from a DVD attached to the LinuxFormat mag. The install seemed to go well. But, on first reboot it hung before it finished, with these error messages:
/etc/init.d/boot line 353: /bin.sh: permission denied
" line 361: /sbin/kill process "
line 378: /bin/stty
line 384: /bin/uname
line 386: /dev tty1
line 388: /bin/touch
/usr/lib/yast2/bin/yast2.firstboot: /bin/bash: bad interpreter: permission denied
I installed without a new grub, and selected the minimum kde software. This is the entry I made for Suse in the grub menu.lst file on hda1/boot/grub:
title Suse 9.1 (hda3)
root (hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3
initrd /boot/initrd
savedefault
boot
I tried reinstalling but got the same errors. Any way to fix this so I can at least see what Suse looks like?
