SuSE 9.1 Prof: Chromium BSU Won't Start

When I tried to start Chromium, I got a blank black window that closed instantly. When I tried running it from the console, I got this error:

I then tried running "Chromium --noaudio" and it worked, but with no sound. Does anyone know why it won't let me start it with sound? What is PCM?

My sound is onboard, as part of the ASUS P4P800e Deluxe motherboard.

PCM stands for Pulse Code Modulation. From wikipedia.org "...the standard form for digital audio in computers and various compact disc formats."

I don't really know much about your problem, but maybe knowing what PCM is will help you find a solution.

Thanks for the info. I looked in YaST, and there's a PCM related package I could install. Maybe this would fix the problem? Or is there a chance my sound won't work anymore if I do this?

The package is: pcmcia - PCMCIA support for Linux (also needed for kernel 2.4)
