SuSE 9.1 Personal / UT2004 Install Solution

If you own SuSE 9.1 Personal and are trying to install Unreal Tournament 2004, but can't seem to mount the discs to the UT installer's satisfaction, do this; it worked for me.
- Look at your fstab file:
# cat /etc/fstab

My output looks like this:
/dev/cdrecorder....../media/cdrecorder....subfs......fs=cdfss,ro,.....etc.
/dev/cdrom............./media/cdrom............subfs......fs=cdfss,ro,.....etc.

SuSE uses "subfs" to automount drives; we need to manually mount and unmount them to install the game. When the installer asks you for disc 2, 3, etc., you must have a terminal window open, as root, and type:

# umount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom

(***Of course, replace /dev/cdrom and /media/cdrom with whatever your entries are in fstab.)

...insert the cd it asks for, then type

# mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom

Wait a couple seconds for the drive to become active, then tell the installer to continue. The install should go smoothly. I installed as root, but can play the game as a normal user.
Hopefully this will help someone like me - not yet linux-savvy.

I'm getting the exact same thing, even logged on as root and it is doing the same. The first time it failed in Disk 4 now it is failing with disk 3.
I have SuSE 9.0 with a standard CD-ROM 52x and a 16x10 Combi drive. i've tried this install with Core3 and suse9.

linux:~ # cat /etc/fstab...
...
/dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/dvd /media/dvd auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0

hair is being pulled!!
