Is it possible to install SuSe Personal 9.1 by hardisk installation?
My SuSe Personal 9.1 iso is located in "E:\suse" in windows and it is a FAT32 type partition.
On linux I believe it is referred to as hdd6 and vfat type partition.
If it is possible to install via hardisk, can you please tell me how to?
What is a "source directory" and how do I type it in? ( suse , "suse" , /suse , "/suse/" ...)
I want to try this method because I believe its better.
When I boot my computer from the CD, which I created using the same iso, I chose manual installation which gives me an option to select a method of installation.
I choose "harddisk" from the menu and press ok. After that I choose the "hdd6 vfat" partition. When prompted, I type in the source directory (which i am not too sure how to as mentioned before) and after that one of the two things happen:
1. A dialogue box pops up saying "Cannot find images"
2. A dialogue box pops up saying "Unable to load partition"
Distribution: K/Ubuntu 18.04-14.04, Scientific Linux 6.3-6.4, Android-x86, Pretty much all distros at one point...

Hmmm, that's a good question,...
SuSE needs to boot the YAST installer on a bootable medium to essentially take /dev/hda offline to transfer stuff to it,... I really don't know if that can be done on ANOTHER hd drive without fiddling with the BIOS in between...
As for Better???, I seriously doubt it. It seems like a lot of fussing for just a little bit of performance increase with the speed differential. Remember,... the speed factor of the CD drive is not the only bottleneck with installation. You also have the amount of RAM and processor speed to consider, since the packages are being uncompressed as you install them. Plus you only have the System bus looking at one thing per line anyway,... so If your have the hd on the same line as the final boot drive, you will have to wait as the system reads, then writes, then reads, then writes, ad nauseum. You can always install additional packages that you have downloaded once you have a base system up and running...
