Hey,
Ive just installed suse 9.1 on my pc. All seemed to go well but i cant get into kde after logging in. It tries to load but says there is a problem with the $DISPLAY configurations. Any clues as to what could be wrong? Or Where i could find help! Thanks

Hi Dan,
Sorry to tell you this but UK is not quite the tropical paradise...
Anyhow, an easy way to solve your problem is to start youur system in failsafe mode.
The xserver will not come up nor would KDE.
Login at the prompt as root, then just type YAST
Yast should come up, go down to hardware in the left menu using the arrows, then select graphics card/monitor
This should bring sax2 which will let you set up your display and/or find out what is wrong.
From here you should also be able to install any packages or configure anything else for your system. Just follow the instructions and you should be fine
