Suse 64 - Dual Core x2 - Maya

Hello ppl, here is my question. I downloaded the eval version of Suse 10. My hardware is AMD x2 64 with 2 gigs of ram. I'm going to run Maya only. should i be downloaded 64 bit version of Suse instead of 32 ? I didn't trust 64...
Anyone using Maya or such 32bit applications with Suse64 ?
And will it going to recognize my dualcore processors ? or am i gonna use it like 1cpu ?
thanx

This processor works in 64 bit mode much faster than in the 32 bit mode.
Just try both version out.
2 cores are used, if the SMP-kernel is installed.
2 cores are not like 1 core.

There are also 32 bit libs for 32 bit applications.
There are also some 32 bit apps included in the standart installation, like Openoffice.
I have also used some 32 bit apps, which haven´t been included in the package.
If your 32 bit application works, just try it out.

Many applications only come in 32 bit RPMs and for the most part work fine with SuSE 10.0 x86_64.
