suse 11 - gnome session

hello:

my gnome session in opensuse does not start. after initial splash screen I just get a blank desktop.

it happens only to me (one user). other users get the gnome application desktop.

I have tried purging .gnome** and these things have not helped

any suggestions?

login to a console and try

rm -rf .gconf*

then start GDM

pkill gdm
or
gdm
