I was wondering if anyone here new if Suse 10.2 would recognize the new daylight savings date set by congress to start this year
if it does not does anyone know how to fix this

To see whether your system is operating under the new rules, enter this command:

Code:
date -d 'March 27'
If it shows PDT, you're fine. If it shows PST, you need to update.

To update, do this:

Code:
mkdir tz
cd tz
wget 'ftp://elsie.nci.nih.gov/pub/tz*.tar.gz'
gzip -dc tzcode*.tar.gz | tar -xf -
gzip -dc tzdata*.tar.gz | tar -xf -
Then read the README file, and all will be revealed.

Hope this helps.

Read this thread. Scroll down to #5 posted by Brydon. It has excellent instructions on how to determine your current settings, and what to do to fix it if it isn't up to date.
