Hello, I'm new to LQ and SUSE/Linux as a whole, please forgive me if I make a mistake.
I am using SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 Evaluation software. I was on susewiki.org earlier looking to download Apache2 and mysql. I followed the procedure YaST->Software Management->apache but the apache2 files are not there.
You could install SLES from scratch or try to add the SLES discs to your YAST software installation sources (I've never tried this in SLED/SLES so don't know if it will work).

I have SUSE 10.1 at home but its not the Enterprise Desktop. I bought it in a box from Best Buy, and it came with 6 CDs and a DVD.
Since your version is an evaluation version, you will probably not have the more interesting packages. I recommend downloading the SUSE Linux 10.1 DVD from
If you poke around, you might also find the CD versions if you do not have a DVD burner. If you burn a DVD, it is a lot easier to install local packages, as you only have to put one disc in the drive.
Thank you so much for the advice. In the end I installed the Server 10, sure enough apache2, php5, and mysql files were there.
But now I have a new problem (should I make a new thread?). Now I'm testing with localhost, but every time I type into the URL I receive a Error 403, "Access Forbidden!"
I'm also looking around the internet as I am typing this, so far nothing yet.
Thanks
Louis
Edit: I think it's the apach2 that's not working properly, but I have no idea how to fix this.
