Crap.

Look Dombrowsky, it's almost 2007 (over here in Oz).

So let me keep this short.

I spoke to someone about a week ago and they said it was bad luck to bring negatives into the new year.

Now I couldn't really care about that, but it got me thinking...

What right do I have to potentially make you feel upset particularly at a time like this.

So, here goes.

I'm sorry. I was out of line. At least you tried to help me and that's at least something.

Something you should be proud of.

Okay there you have it.

This will be my last post/thread, so, all the best.

Have a happy 2007.

Sorry to interrupt, but can I bring the discussion back to its original topic?

I installed Suse 9.3 yesterday (don't ask why 9.3...it was just the easiest solution for me at the moment). The problem I am facing is that X does not start. When I first intalled Suse, it worked just fine. So I suppose that my monitor drivers are working properly. The problem is that the screen resolution was 800x600 and I wanted to cjhange it, so I tried to do so from the GNOME Conttrol Center. Now X does not start at all. I can login to Suse all right, but no graphical applications seem to work

The message I get is:
(EE) No devices detected.
Fatal server error:
no screens found

I searched at http://wiki.x.org/ and found this:
http://wiki.x.org/wiki/FAQErrorMessa...45e9c745b6cfd4

but it didn't seem to help me much. Any advice? Should I just reinstall Suse? I believe I should mess with the configuration file a bit... but I'm going to need A LOT of help doing that. Any ideas?
