SUSE 10.0 users not allowed to use crontab

Hello,

I have been trying to create a crontab as myself (or to simply list it) and get the following error:

"You (user) are not allowed to use this program (crontab)
See crontab(1) for more information"

As root, of course, I can create the crontab with no problem and have done so with crontab -e -u user.

I have also created a crontab.allow file with my username and the crontab.deny file does not contain my username. What could be the problem?

Thanks for any help

Shouldn't they be /etc/cron.allow and /etc/cron.deny? Have you restarted the cron daemon after creating cron.allow?

Or, add the user name to group trusted at /etc/group.
