Suse 10.0 graphics card not working for Toshiba Satellite Laptop L25 S1216
 

I installed Suse 10.0 and Windows XP pro dual boot on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop L25 S1216. It works fine for windows but when I go to boot up in linux I get the normal boot up screen but when it is ready to show the GUI the X shows up and noting else comes up.


What should I do?

Do I need to change the video card driver?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I tried Mandriva 2006 as well and same thing happened. The install process went fine but when ready to show GUI nothing comes up on screen.

Sounds like an nncompatability to me.

What graphics card does it use? If I recall, most Satellites use ATI cards. If this is the case, you might want to try the ATI proprietary driver and see if there is any improvement.
