Just an observation...
I recently purchased the SuSE 10.0 boxed set and installed it on two computers, both were fresh installs. I used the dvd for an install on one pc and the 5 cd's for an install on another pc.
SuSE installed on both pc's successfully with no problems.
As part of the customizing, I went to install GKrellm and used YaST to get the package off of the installation disc(s).
The dvd installed pc installed GKrellm without incident.
When I seached for GKrellm using YaST on the cd installed pc it returned "no results"
Perplexed about this, I browsed all 5 cd's and did not find GKrellm on any of the cd's.
No worries....I just copied the GKrellm rpm off of the dvd, and installed it that way. All is good !!
Anyway, my point to all of this is that I was under the impression that all of the packages on the (purchased boxed set) dvd were contained on the cd's, but, this does not seem to be the case. Or, perhaps I was just misinformed...
Also, I wonder how many more packages are on the dvd that were left off of the cd's and vise versa.
