Suse 10.0 bad md5sums

Hey, I just bought the boxed set of Suse 10.0 from Best Buy. I brought the set home and popped CD 1 into the drive and loaded the system without a hitch. There was no offer to check the medium, but there was absolutely no problems getting the system up and running.

It has been working fine for several days and then something strange began happening, so I decided to load snort and see if I could catch someone messing with me. But I couldn't get the thing off the DVD. Error message indicated that there was a corrupted file on the disk. I ran the media check in Yast and it reported the md5sums were wrong. I then ran the CD disks thorough the media check and they came back bad.

I reported this to Novell/Suse. I've not received a reply, but I did get a robot generated confirmation of my request.

The disks have public gpg keys on them. I thought I'd use them to convince myself that the Set was authentic and not a bootleg edition. But I really don't know how to use gpg and I'm not sure the public keys have anything to do with the disks. Can anyone help with this.

The boxed product from BestBuy won't be a bootleg version, but it's surprising the md5's are wrong for the DVD *and* CD. Have you a media check on another computer to rule out a drive error? The automated SuSE response is quite normal, and they'll recommend returning the disks to BestBuy for an exchange at the most anyway.
