Startup Programs

How does Suse 10 handle startup programs? Kmail starts up automatically when I log in, and I don't want it to. How can I shut it off?

that's nothing that suse knows about, that's within your desktop manager, presumably nasty icky KDE. so it's a case of stopping KDE load it, not suse.

You're probably right, so how do I stop KDE from doing it? On a separate matter, if not KDE, what desktop manager should I use in Suse?

Did you shutdown KDE whilst kmail was still running? Try the following, run kcontrol -> kde components -> session manager -> on login -> start with empty session.

Thanks reddazz...KDE was set to "restore previous session," and since KMail was running in the systray, it booted up every time. Now I've got it set to "start with an empty session," and everything is ok.

Yeah, I was going to suggest the same thing, I wish that Kmail would startup minimized in the systray and not open up each time.

Oh well.

Later all
