knoppix is a bootable CD. Unlike other bootable mediums, I don't believe the boot sector of the CD to be right up front. You will probably need to do some research into the El Tolito Boot specification.
This is of coarse assuming you want to use the chainloader command to get the KNOPPIX boot prompt (lilo). If you just want to boot knoppix with a particular knoppix kernel, you may be able to get away with it just like any other Linux boot.
