SaX2 not working after changing options to activate dual head mode
I have Suse 10.2 installed in an Asus W5G00AE laptop and my ultimate goal is to have a simple hotkey to swith among LCD and VGA display.
My Fn+LCD/CRT hotkey obviously doesn't work...
I have an Intel 915G chip. My problem starts way before the hotkey:
1) Yast launches Sax2 to configure the card and monitor properties. When I activate dual head mode (clone multihead) and save configuration, the TV shows my screen, as expected. The problems
1) Even though I chose another resolution in the "second monitor" section, it is ignored. Changing resolution in the tray solves the problem, but it changes both the LCD and VGA-TV resolutions.
2) After saving the configurations, SaX2 stops working. Calling it from the menu or in the shell will not load the program (although it will ask for the root's password).
3) running "sax2 -c 0" in the shell will load the program, because I believe it won't read the current configuration
4) Changing xorg.conf by hand results in the same problem - sax2 gui will not work.
Anyone has a clue why this happens? My friend's response was that "Suse is not very good...try debian". Hmm...
