Resolution Too Low

Hey guys. I set my resolution really low. I forget exactly how low. Somewhere down in the 600x800 range. My monitor didn't like this. Now, whenever I boot into SUSE, all I get is a black screen. I still hear the start-up noise, so I don't think it's frozen. I've tried everything. I even hit Ctrl > Alt > Backspace to see if I could do anything from there. Due to a bug in the nVidia Gfx Driver (I've known this for a while), that doesn't work. I see nothing but orange, blue, and other colors scattered in random places across the screen. Is there anything I can type in at the bootloader or something that will change the resolution back to what it was before?

I know - setting the resolution that low was really stupid. To avoid sounding stupid, I think I'll explain why I did it. I installed the Doom 3 demo. When I started it, I got nothing but a black screen. I heard the noise from the menu, but I couldn't see anything. One of my buddies suggested putting my resolution really low. Then if it works, going into the options in Doom 3 and changing it to work on a higher resolution. But I don't know if his suggestion works or not. Can't test it out because of the problem above.

Also, one more thing. I wouldn't call myself a newbie, but I'm still not that good at working in the shell. If fixing this is brain surgery, please make your answers clear.

Thanks.

" Now, whenever I boot into SUSE, all I get is a black screen."

See if you can get a command line prompt by using the three finger command:
<Ctrl><Alt><F3>
If so, then login as root. Then run the command:
sax2
sax2 will lead you through configuring your monitor. When you are through with sax2 reboot with:
shutdown -r now

Thank you! That did it. Feels good to be out of Winblows. :)
