Realtek RTL8139/810x and SuSE
Has anyone successfully configured a Realtek RTL8139/810x and linux using YAST2? I'm trying to set it up for DHCP and for someone reason it is giving me a hassle.

I have an RTL8139..and have never had any problem. In fact..it always get's autoconfigured by SuSE.

Use this code for setup your eth under module kernel:
modprobe 3c59x :) |
Should i just tell SuSE to load that module for my Realtek during the setup process instead?

I remember I've had some trouble with the driver 8139too (which was used as default). When I switched to 8139cp, everything went fine.
You can specify the driver in the Network Devices -> Network Cards section of YaST. Select 'Change' -> 'Edit' -> 'Advanced' -> 'Hardware Details' and change the driver from 8139too to 8139cp. |
