PS2 keyboard doesn't work after the "Enter" key is used

Installed Suse 8.1 professional on my new box using dual boot (120g HD). During install I selected text only(F2) and followed the instructions. After rebooting and selecting "linux" from the menu the os loads and requests a login
name. After I type in my "login" name and press "enter" the keyboard quits working eg: none of the keys work .

System:
MSI 865 pe motherboard
I gig ram (DDR 400)
Radeon 9200
120g hd
Windows ME/ Suse 8.1

Keyboard has been swapped with another with no change and both keyboards do work.

As of now I can't login to Suse at all but 'doze does work.

Any ideas or solutions will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hmmm.

Can you ctrl+alt+F2 (or 3 or 4 etc.) and change tty's?
Mabey for some strange reason it's accepting the "enter" as a part of a longer password.
does ctrl+alt+del do anything?

Wish you could get more help than this though...
