Problem With Setting Up Monitor

Here is a problem that exists in the newest version of suse, but not in the previous version(9.3) I had the hardest time setting up my Acer(AL1711) LCD monitor and the thing is that when I provided the correct sync ranges (verticle and horizontal), the monitor still would not display crrectly or display a picture at all.I tried various other models in the acer family that might work and there was a driver that seemed to work, but it was and odd resolution and not the 1280x1026 resolution that I'm usually setup for. Even downloading the nvidia driver for my graphics card still would not do any good. In that case I was hoping that after installing that nvidia driver that I would be presented with the correct display resolutions. Usually I'm always set for 1280x1024@75. Didn't see it as an option. I even tried to edit the xorg.conf file and no dice. Any ideas for something that will work?

Hello!

You may setup your monitor with 1280x1024x60Hz (Vesa).

Greetings
