Problem with rfcomm on suse10.2

Hi Can anyone help me, I have upgraded my suse10.1 installation to suse10.2 and the rfcomm connection to my motorola v360 has stopped working. It was working perfectly with 10.1 using the line "rfcomm connect 0 <address of my phone>", But when I upgraded the installation this forces up the bonding dialog on my phone for a very brief period and then reports back can't connect RFCOMM socket: Permission denied. It looks like a timing problem but I don't know where i should look to correct this.
thanks
