problem with Radeon 9600 pro

Hi,

I installed Suse 9.3, but it seems like the 3d acceleration of my graphics card is not working. I'd appreciate if someone can give me a step-by-step instruction on howto install the drivers for the ATI card.

I already tried the instruction from suse (ftp.suse.com/pubftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/ATI/suse92/i386/fglrx/8.14.13/)

When I run the make modules and make install commands I get warnings that some files (or directories?) are missing. And when I play OpenGL games the framerate is miserable so I assume that the 3d acceleration is not working. How can I make sure if acceleration is on/off?

Thx

For SUSE 9.3 you should use the driver for 9.3!

I don't think you can expect more detailed instructions than those in the README. Could you post your error messages/warnings from the module compilation?

Hmm, the first error could be solved by installing the package 'kernel-syms', but this should not be important for the function of the driver. The modversions are needed to allow to use a driver after a kernel update.

The second warning doesn't tell me much. Did you update the kernel modules as well (km_fglrx)? Maybe you need to wait for someone more experienced with these drivers than me.
