Please help, I'm so confused
I am currently using FC3 and WinXP Home on a dual boot system. However, I am considering making a new computer out of spare computer parts I have and just putting linux on it. I have tried several linux distros, such as FC3, Mandrake, Knoppix, and Gentoo. I need something that is easy to use after coming from windows, and I have heard Suse is very easy to use and install. I know there is some type of package that lets you install/uninstall packages in Suse, but I was wondering what packages that lets you install. I know it has basic stuff like Web browsers and office productivity programs, but what about games? My number 1 problem with linux is that I am yet to find an easy to use package manager. Currently I am using Synaptic, but I dont like it as much as I would like. Also, most of the Suse products I see are servers. All I need is a desktop version with support and free and easy updates, patches, etc. The person I will be building this computer for has never used linux, and I am afraid they will get scared off because some packages are hard to install for windows users. Also, how configurable is Suse? Has anybody had any problems with Suse I should know about? btw, how much does Suse cost with the configuration I have listed above?
Thank you in advance, I know I asked a lot of questions.
