OpenSuse installation; package was not found!

First, I’m new to Linux
Second, I have downloaded and burned the OpenSuse 10.1’s DVD image and trying to install it on my pc. After all configurations and partitioning, installation goes fine for some minuets and then it comes with an error “package was not found on the media”…. Then it comes with error message and jumps into kernel environment! 

I have no idea about the cause of it. It is written to retry to download on the error box, but I’m wondering if I spend another day to download the 3.5gb file and then the same error happens! What do u guys suggest? (Please help asap… everything is formatted on my hard disk and I need to shift from windows sooner)

I have had several problems getting the downloaded SuSE DVD for 10.1 to work properly. First, because of the file size, it may get corrupted in the download and it can have a problem when making the DVD. I have had missings files and DVD's that will not boot. For what it is work, I have always had better luck downloading and buring the CD versions, but you must make 5 or six CD's to get a full system. I did finally purchase the retail version of SuSE 10.1 and the DVD that came with boots and works just fine. However, it is a dual layer version and bigger than the ones you can download. This is true because they have both the 32 bit abd 64 bit versions on the same single DVD. So, If you just got to have a DVD, think about buying a magazine with one on it, or buy the real thing from Novell or just download the CD version and use it instead.

Thank You,
