It's pretty much the same as the old SUSE.

The install is a little different with the same install options being available, but maybe not as obvious as before. The install interface is a bit cleaner (less options) to remove confusion for the new user.

Four CDs versus the previous five CD set. I don't recall the Macromedia EULA or Adobe Reader EULA popping up anymore, so they've probably been removed from the default install.

This is about my twentieth install of SUSE, and I finally opted to set the default desktop to Gnome to see what that would be like. I didn't like it so I'm rebuilding again with KDE this time.

Other than that, I'd say it pretty much the same as SUSE 9.3. I didn't need that fifth CD anyway.

Isn't the 5th CD going to contain commercial software and won't be distributed with opensuse but with the retail version?

I used it for a while yesterday and its still very buggy, but shaping up to be a good release.

beta2 also has apt4rpm included. The kernel is 2.6.13 and KDE is 3.4.2.

This is why first install with SUSE and I am impressed. Installed and runs great on my laptop with only 256ram.
