open suse 13.2 installed on Acer 5520-5912 w/nvidia geforce 7000m no command prompt,

All the Suse distros, from 12.3 on, cannot provide graphic interface with 3 laptops I have. If you cannot see the screen you cannot enter commands to repair the problem. I am going to try Lubuntu, but I know Suse, although I have had other issues lately, like Thunderbird, and I use zypper to install programs now. Yast is still not simplified sufficiently. Perhaps my machines are built with inferior hardware, they are low end machines, but if Linux is to be the free software that Microsoft is not something needs to change. My complaint about Linux, I've seen some distros that claim Microsoft like attributes, but Linux programmers need to take it down a notch.

suse really dose need fairly good hardware

and some integrated nvidia/intel ( i call pseudo) 3d "chips" are not supported

BUT

the OLDER 7000m chip uses the LEGACY support 304 driver
-- 64 bit
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/drive...px/80134/en-us
-- 32 bit
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/drive...px/80133/en-us

however seeing as SUSE dose things SO DIFFERENTLY than every other rpm distro

use the suse documentation

Details on your machines?

I've got openSuSE 13.2 running on an old Pentium 4 home built as well as a ASUS eeePC (with 1.6ghz Atom processor and cheap built-in video).
