Opaque Xterminal/Konsole?

I would like to have a transparent or opaque background for my Konsole that will allow me to see what I need to copy without having to switch back and forth. I have been able to get a transparent background, but it goes all the way back to my wallpaper, and this is not helpful in the way I would like it to be. Thanks in advance!

From my experience with KDE, it has never had real transparency. It fakes it by putting a scrolling image as a background within windows/toolbars, whatever. It is too bad, because I too would like real transparency, but as yet haven't messed with it enough to know for sure whether it can or cant be done. My guess is you can, but it will probably need software enhancements to do it.
