online_update failed - ERROR(Media:connection failed)[Connect failed]

Hi,

I have using SUSE 9.1. I check everyday for updates to make sure the server is secure.
Yesterday I tried to update the server with the command online_update an got an error

ERROR(Media:connection failed)[Connect failed]

Can anyone tell me what I should do to correct this problem?

Thanks

Try to select another server from the pulldown menu. Sometimes your favourite server is just down.

Are you sure your network is up and properly configured? Did you change something on the YOU server list?

I change nothing on the server.
My ADSL modem went out of order, so I'm using an new one.
I can connect from remote to the server. When I'm logged in on the server I can get on the Internet.

So I didn't change settings on my server, but I have a different ADSL Modem. But that should not be the problem, or..?

Hmm, I am running out of ideas. Have you checked the support database? I found this for example:

I turned off my firewall for a test.
But that also has no effect.

Can anyone help me?

I found the problem. I had contact with someone in the USA and he had the same problem.

I tried serveral different servers and only one was working. The person in the USA had the same problem. It looks like that SUSE/Novel have problems with there servers.

Thanks all for your support

Regards,

Rover
