I am a first time user of linux and have no idea as to how to proceed. i tried downloading some sound drivers on the net but do not even know how to install it. please help.
And how do i enable 3D support on it.
Try configuring the audio card for alsa.
There should be a program like alsaconf (/usr/sin/alsaconf maybe)
After configuring the card, store the configuration (alsactl store)
And user alsamixer to adjust mixer levels.
If the alsa-suit is not there, try to reinstall the alsa-package in suse.
In case they have changed the names, reordered the world, or whatever Suse tought it suits... you better ask to Suse-users.
On an ACER you may need to plug a pair of headphones to listen to the sound.
