no sound after kernel update, suse 11.0 64 bits

since i installed suse 11.0 sound was working out of the box. i installed suse 11.0 the next day it came out. since then i did a few kernel updates (i think) and every thing was ok. last night i did update and today i have no sound. first thing i noticed is that sound mixer disappeared, also when i start amarok i get "xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers". tried to play ani avi file, and no sound too. but then i go into Administrator Settings -> Hardware -> Sound -> Other -> Play Test Sound i can here the test sound. do i have to recompile the audio driver? i checked and "libxine1" is installed. what can i do to get my sound back?
OS: suse 11.0 64 bits
Audio Card: CM8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device
kde: 3.5.9 (release 49.1)
kernel: 2.6.25.16-0.1

Thanks in advance
